Step 1:

Pair children up or divide into groups.

Step 2:

Hang trash sign on the back of a child from each group or pair.

Possible Trash Sign items:

• Paper plate
• Notebook Paper
• Cotton T-shirt
• Orange Peel
• Cardboard
• Plastic Wrap
• Plastic
• Banana Peel
• Cookie Package
• Plastic Grocery Bag
• Paper Towel
• Aluminum Can

*or come up with your own list.

Step 3:

Have them take turns asking yes or no questions about their items until they guess what they are. (Encourage them to use the terms they learned - see definitions given. E.g. "Am I biodegradable ?")

Step 4:

After the game is over, address any confusion the children may have.
